Four Members of the Bainbridge Rotary Club travelled to the Russian Federation from November 8 to 17, 2006.  Together with a Moscow Rotary Club, they "Lead the Way" in demonstrating Rotary Service In Action.

The Team was interacting with children in the "Mercy Orphanage" in the Tula Region, and the "Zhiletovo Orphanage" in the Kaluga Region of the Russian Federation.

From left to right:

Robert Dann, Mike Wilcox, Anne Marie "Anya" Schaeffer and Team Leader Ken Wilcox.

"Anya" had been taking private lessons in Russian [conducted by Bainbridge Rotarian Helen Hernandez] and was able to interact with the children on a very personal basis.

Anne Marie showing the kids at Zhiletovo what to do with the  "Dip Stix" candy.  The candy was a big hit.

On Nov 14, we went to the "Kaluga Baby House" where we delivered the blankets from  Camp Brace and toured the facility.

Thank you for your donations for the visit.  If you still have any of these, please let us know.  The Russian Project is on going.
