to the club about the Historical Society and its obtaining the
"Grange Hall' for $1.00. She told all about plans to establish this
the "Museum of Bainbridge History." |
1/18/01: Jeff brought us Shay
Rhinelander who spoke to the club about Scottish Deerhounds. They
are an old and fairly rare breed and they make great pets, even though
they are big. Great in chasing things, especially wolves, coyotes
and rabbit.s |

| 1/25/01: Michelle Shirkey brought us Lawrence
Tallman of the BG Music deparmtnet. He is very pround of the program
and said that we have one of the largest string groups in the area.
BG also has some of the highest participation of most of the rural schools
with over 60 students at Greenlawn alone. He said the school is
working hard to meet the new State requirements. There will be a
faculty recital on Feb. 8th. |
2/1/01: Deb brought us Donna
Fletcher and Jackie Mokowski who are customer advocates for NYSEG. They
showed us a video about NYSEG's power partner program that covers 42
counties in NY. The NYSEG program helps low income families budget for
their utility needs and works with the customer to pay existing
bills. |

| 2/8/01: Manon Chevalier told us about her
home in La louviere, Belgium. Manon had pictures of her family and
home. She said our cars and houses are larger than at home. Manon has 2
brothers ages 22 and 7 and her mom is a teacher and her dad travels a lot.
Manon said she enjoys school here and she misses her cats at home. Thanks

| 2/15/01: Linda brought us George Gull, a
Rotarian from Ithaca. George also works at Cornell in the astronomy
department. He builds devices that link to telescopes to detect infrared
light. George works with NASA and does a lot with telescopes in airplanes.
It was an excellent slide program and one of the better programs we've had
lately. Thanks Linda |

2/15/01: Barlow Ware, is know as Mr.
Foundation for Rotary district 7170 with Mike Wilcox the Bainbridge Rotary
Club's Foundation Chairperson.

3/1/01: Andrew
Bauerle Bainbridge mayor discussed the upcoming water project. Andy
discussed the history of the municipal wells, the old pumping station, the
problems resulting from the switch and what is needed to correct the
problems. He also discussed replacing the 4 inch water mains and adding
loops to the dead end mains, approximate costs and funding.
The mayor also discussed the grant for
last year of $9800 for upgrading the computer equipment and plans for
requesting a grant this year for updating radar and purchasing
mobile phones and mobile radios and base stations. Thank you Mayor for
an informative meeting.
