Dave asked Walter
(Corky) O¹Hara to come forward as he told of his activities in Rotary.
Corky was inducted into Bainbridge Rotary in December of 1990. In 1992 he
became a member of the Board of Directors of the club and during the next
four years while on the board became Vice President in 1993 and President
in 1994. He and his wife have hosted Rotary Exchange Students as well as
hosting Rotary Group Study Exchange Teams on several occasions.
During his year as president the club accomplished much including breaking
of ground for little league fields at General Clinton Park, planting of
trees near the pavilion built for the public, a workday at the scout house
to replace windows, doors and to put in new lights.
Corky was chairperson of the club¹s Club Service Committee¹ and the
club¹s Community Service Committee¹. He also has been active as a member
of the many committees and sub-committees of the club.
District Governor Marie Lusins presented Corky with the Paul Harris
Medallion and Corky received a standing ovation and loud applaus
